The garden at the McDuffie Environmental Education Center attracts a large number of Black Tiger Swallowtails, Cloudless Sulfurs, Buckeyes, Red Spotted Purples, and Gulf Fritillary butterflies. The garden includes lantana, butterfly bushes, zinnias, joe pye weed, salvia, gay feather, cone flowers, petunias and cosmos. It also has milkweed, parsley and fennel as well as may pop vines that serve as host plants. The garden is an open area surrounded by a sandhill forest and wetlands.
